Sorry, I have found a way to clone children, visually, however, because they never really saved in the actual game.
They also work:
Shift + F2
Shift + F3
Shift + F4
Shift + F5
etc. up to F10
To load the saved with Shift + F1, simply press F1. Press F2, F2, loading, etc. all the way to F10

You just saved as you normally do in the game and the next time you the ROM, save the file to be saved and can be loaded into the game.
You can press ENTER to access the menu then save. If this fails, click on the "vibrations" and change controls. You can also save on a computer and must be at the next Open Visual children state. =]
